IVY Tech Community College (IVY Tech) and Aeverine Nieves (Ava Zinn), today announced a wide-ranging agreement to attend IVY Tech’s Fort Wayne campus. The agreement also included enrollment and taking classes, which ended a 19 year search to replace Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion, Indiana on May 19, 2020.
“After prolonged negotiations, we’re pleased to welcome Ava to IVY Tech,” said an IVY Tech official.
“I want to thank our partners at IVY Tech who worked tirelessly to help us reach a successful conclusion,” said yours truly. “This agreement provides a strategic partnership between Ava Zinn and IVY Tech to end the search for another college/university.”
The agreement ensures that Ava Zinn will attend IVY Tech starting August 24, 2020 after a nearly 6,500 day search since attending Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion, which was resolved in February 2019 after exposing what eventually became that institution’s housing policy. This was the prime reason why Ava Zinn left Marion in 2018.

Chicagoan by birth (as a boy), Ava Zinn was brought up in Van Buren, Indiana. With an psychological/mental injury prematurely putting an end to any hopes of a promising career in special education following her dis-enrollment from Indiana Wesleyan University, she went back to business to complete a course in housing and media production management. Her dedication and natural talent led her to train with some of the Indianapolis and Fort Wayne’s leading personalities.
