Bowen Center and Ava Zinn have reached an agreement while negotiations with Park Center are still ongoing. The only casualty is a canceled appointment at Park Center so far.
FORT WAYNE – It has now been almost nine months since yours truly, Ava Zinn relocated from Marion to Fort Wayne, but it has been a bumpy road. What is even worse is that it has also been almost four weeks since Park Center became the first break “Lynsey’s Law” (a well-known and well-established policy that went into effect January 4, 2007, disallowing male case coordinators/case managers for any reason regardless of any changes whatsoever). In an attempt to resolve the dispute, yours truly telephoned them last Monday to resolve the dispute or legal action/civil penalties will be taken. A Park Center representative told yours truly, while they want to get this resolved, Park Center has not responded to the requests made by yours truly at all.
Yours truly commented: “There is nothing I would like more than to get this dispute resolved with Park Center. But I cannot do it myself. There needs to be a willing party on the other side of the table to actually sit down and have a real negotiation in order to reach an agreement that is fair to both Ava Zinn and Park Center.”
“We apologize for not meeting Ms. Zinn’s needs at Park Center. We have tried to reach out to Ava. We had asked Ava to contact us to continue case management, and Ava simply did not comply,” a representative for Park Center’s C.K. (initialed due to doctor patient laws) said in a statement to Fort Wayne’s Very Own LGBT Ava Zinn.
LGBT Ava Zinn has reached out to CK last Monday and we have not received a response back. However, Ms. Zinn is working on a contingency plan with Bowen Center on the northwest side of Fort Wayne should the Ava Zinn/Park Center dispute go unresolved.
