What’s Wrong With Holly Everman?

In more ways than one close friend could possibly imagine, yet in some odd manner since 1990, Holly Everman’s friends have been dreading for this day. They’ve been dreading for the day when she’d reach rock bottom and be forced to come to terms with an alcohol problem that she’s battled for some time.

“She’s a sick, sick woman,” one source told me. “She desperately needs help.”

There was a sad inevitability to what happened Sunday morning on the northwest side of Indianapolis when she was arrested for her second DUI this year alone. Everman faces four felony counts after being arrested on preliminary charges of driving under the influence and possession of a controlled substance. As someone I have been close friends with for 25 years, insider sources and fellow Muncie Central High School Class of 1998 alumni have known that Holly was struggling again with alcohol. For years, they fought to get her into rehab. At the very least, they fought to get her a driver in the hopes of keeping her from getting behind the wheel.

I have been cleaning up Holly’s messes for years now, especially since May of 2012 following the death of another good friend–Robyn (Hurd) Matthewson. Time and again, Everman dismissed the concerns of her close friends and confidants, even if her increasingly attractive physical appearance sent up red flags throughout the community.

I asked her back in 2011 when I was visiting her in Muncie about her weight gain, which has brought her from 135 pounds to 190, and she insisted the doctors kept telling her to lose weight.

I suspected otherwise.

Those of us who are around Holly Everman on a regular basis suspected otherwise for a very long time.

So why didn’t you know what was wrong with Holly Everman?

That’s a fair question I got asked in 2011. But it’s much like the NBA players during the Detroit Pitons Bad Boys era. Suspicions cannot be the basis for a post on this web site — AvaZinn.com. My feeling all along has been, “Unless she gets arrested for drugs, or acts erratically in a public setting while obviously under the influence, it will remain nothing more than an educated guess.”

Now he’s been arrested — twice now.

The game has changed.

That was hammered home Monday morning as a bunch of media waited outside the Indianapolis-Marion County Sheriff’s Office. Around 8:30, Everman and her lawyer, appeared and got into a car without comment. Everman looked beaten, face blotchy. It was a sad sight but not a surprising one.

She has two big problems, besides the obvious alcohol issue: She has the appearance of a former supermodel, and she has lots of free time. That is a dangerous cocktail for a woman with a genetic predisposition to alcohol abuse.

That doesn’t make her a bad woman, just a troubled one, one who has been in and out of rehab on multiple occasions, one who needs to get herself some help again if she wants to be alive for the American Idol’s next female winner.

This is not written in anger. It’s written with compassion — although if she’d hurt someone while driving, it would take on a different tone. This is a woman 34 years of age I’ve been best friends with since 1989 in the throes of addiction, a disease she’s been fighting for four years with mixed results.

Now comes the wake-up call.

Do you hear it, Holly? Do you hear it? Or do you press the snooze button and continue on this downward spiral? Or did you realize when you shaved your head when Christina Grimmie finished third place on The Voice and Josh K robbed Christina of “The Voice 6” title — in the process delivering Vote for the Girls its first loss on “The Voice” in addition to Jena Asciutto finishing runner-up on American Idol 13? Or did you realize when you had the audacity to call Khayla Chow “a bisexual black bimbo” during an appearance on Vote for the Girls on YouTube, you and Khayla got into a heated argument about the Malaya Watson’s elimination and Chow shoved you to the floor you saw the downward spiral happening?

There’s no shame. There’s no embarrassment. Fact is, if Holly gets the help she needs, she’d be a public beacon for the multitudes who also need help with alcohol and sex addition. Just as Brian Wilkes of Fox 59 in Indianapolis has taken the small step in finding a cure for cancer and more specifically Breast Cancer — though it is Beards for Breast Cancer, Everman can be a guiding light for those in the grips of addiction.

She’s just got to decide it’s time.

Because, well, it is time.

As a secondary issue, there’s now the question of what as I, Ava Zinn, as the administrator, founder, and webmaster of Vote for the Girls, will do once I collect all the pertinent information. I can promise you the fans and followers of Ava Zinn, Holly Everman, as well as Vote for the Girls and INNewsCenter will watch this closely. Will I come down as hard on Holly Everman as I do with other friends? Do not be shocked or surprised if I have to sanction or metes out some sort of harsh punishment against Holly.

At this point, Holly Everman needs to temporarily abdicate control of her role as my BFF to either Alec Dailey (even though she and Alec have gotten into many heated exchanges over the years), Serena R, her longtime right-hand woman, or either her sisters, Elisa and Lynsey–both Elisa and Lynsey have children of their own (of which I was, from 1997 to 2000, in a relationship with Elisa (and have a daughter, Tiffani f/k/a Timothy and Elisa has another daughter, Nermal, now moderator of the UK and Australian version of Vote for the Girls) and I was, from 2000 until 2011, colleagues with Lynsey at NoSirGifts Venues before I walked away in 2011–despite being an heiress to the NoSirGifts franchise). Holly’s got more important business to take care of than worrying about Vote for the Girl’ next victory. With or without Holly Everman, it shouldn’t change very much about the short-term, day-to-day operations of Vote for the Girls. I take care of that end of the business.

Again, though, that’s secondary.

Based on several conversations I had over the past several weeks and months with the other Vote for the Girls (US, UK, and Australia) moderators and other friends of mine and Holly’s, Holly Everman is pretty much a woman fighting for her life.

Ava Zinn goes strapless tops and thong panties for Vote for the Girls Loss

It’s just so hard to actually believe that it has been nearly 10 years since I officially began transitioning from male to female. Recently, as part of the Vote for the Girls Punishment following the losses on The Voice 6 and American Idol 13, Ava Zinn–yours truly– and another transgender woman named Kathi Jameson and Kellie Rock and Holly Everman are basically trading respective gender idenity roles: To coincide with the ongoing gender transitions from male to female of yours truly and Kathi, Kathi and I began to wear strapless tops, halters, and bikinis over the summer, accompanied by Zinn not wearing a skirt or dresses as well as for the first time since my gender transition began began to wear thong panties for the summer while Kathi continues her gender transition with skits and dresses and able to wear her thong panties occasionally since she has been on HRT since 2010; meanwhile my close friend, Holly, and Kellie Rock (no relation to Bill Rock, my former colleague at Carey Services, but Kellie is the sister of my late best friend Robyn Hurd) returns the favor by binding their breasts to create a flat-chested appearance, with Holly passing as a male after Holly shaved her head after Jena Irene was announced the runner-up on American Idol, thus Holly appears to be more masculine and wearing male clothing and Kellie basically passing as a woman that had breast cancer who had a double mastectomy (removal of both breasts).

There is clearly a strong reaction to the Vote for the Girls USA Punishment for failure following the two losses as many of my closest friends for nearly 20 years, neighbours, and acquaintances, friends on Facebook as I announced on THIS WEB SITE and on my YouTube Channel on April 18, 2014 that I decided to auction off her virginity (that means I will have sexual intercourse for the final time as a biological male) in the biggest Vote for the Girls Punishment for Failure. In addition to the virginity auction, there is the vegetarian diet I’ve been on for nearly three months now and and yesterday just when I was about to enter my door a neighbour of mine named Randi Fansler told me I wasn’t eating right and she thought I needed meat and I tried my best to tell her no meat. It really felt like I was in a bank robbery but I decided to freeze the food in question which was lasagna with meat in the dish in the freezer and basically didn’t eat the food because it had meat and I ask someone NOT to add any meat in my food, it means exactly that. So basically, Ms. Fansler really committed a violation by trying to force a vegetarian to eat meat because she thinks “Vegetarian is wrong. Absolute BS. Since September of 2013, I have lost nearly 20 pounds and since the vegetarian diet, I have lost at most three pounds–nearly 25 pounds in all.

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

If the vegetarian diet and virginity auction wasn’t the worse part, perhaps the nullification of all this is that on June 1, 2014 (exactly nine and a half years since my gender transition began, I began to wear a strapless top in public for the first time in my life. So far, I’ve gotten quite a positive reaction and the first few individuals like my fellow Mississinewa High School Class of 2001 alumnus Jennifer Dickerson and her mother, Jackie (my former supervisor at Carey Services from 2009 to 2013) were the first to see me in a strapless top after I waled out of Walmart. Then today, I began wearing my very first pair of thong panties and by looking at the strapless tops I bought and the thong panty I am wearing, I figured, “Hey, Strapless Top or Strapless dress plus a thong panty, I look like a lesbian hooker with sperm.”

Because it is a Vote for the Girls punishment, I have to wear a strapless top and wear a thong panty on occasion, the latter of which required me to “tuck and tape” or in layman’s terms to bind my gonads into what will eventually be my vagina (once my SRS is completed) and wrap the, um, “vaginal scrotol lips” around my “enlarged clitoris” to make it appear that I have female genitals–something I do occasionally. I remain identifying as female without question and gender issues, while some are still struggling with that since I came out as trans in 2003. Sure my gonads and enlarged clitoris will get extremely tender and sore when I get sexually aroused.

UPDATED: May 23, 2014 4:16 AM EDT

Pretty much official now, Ava Zinn is auctioning off her virginity.

Pretty much official now, Ava Zinn is auctioning off her virginity.

I know you’re pretty much socked and baffled about my decision to auction off my virginity as a male and I want to know what you think. Your comments could be on either Vote for the Girls or on AvaZinn.com

[yop_poll id=”2″]

Here are the comments I received in person already:

As a punishment for Jessica Meuse landing in the bottom two on American Idol and for Ava to make that announcement, I think Ava Zinn’s decision to sell her virginity has crossed the line – J.W.
Ava, I’m sorry, but you are out of your f**kin mind. – E.P

I think you need to retool Vote for the Girls, you’re a f**king sexist. – Annoying Jena Irene fan

(on Twitter), most common complaint on Vote for the Girls US and UK

Ava Zinn is full of herself and seems to be more a cyber-bully now and she’s really playing more hardball than in recent years. – Lucy on Twitter

Hey, now! I think you might want to reconsider this decision. Some things are just too precious to sell. Keep your head up and know that your body, mind, and spirit are precious and only for those who love and appreciate you. – Mandi M.

Very sad you think there could be a price for your body! Please think things through and realize the value of respecting yourself. – Electa H.

Ava Zinn Indy Relocation… UPDATE

Back in July, I realized when the search to relocate from Marion to Indianapolis had almost reached a dead-end.I had contacted various apartment complexes in Indianapolis, with mixed results–either got no response or worse.

Make It Marion Indiana FAILEDSo I put two and two together, and decided that I would actually make another trip to Indianapolis because I had won my wager with my former boss at ATE Media on who won The Voice – my pick of Danielle Bradbery won the voice and earned the Indianapolis visit and Patrice Rafferty wanted to take me on a shopping spree, but then on July 30, I checked my mail and received something from IndyGo thinking “did I order a Day Pass online” and when I opened the letter, I had found out that I won four tickets to the Indiana State Fair.

Also, I wanted to avoid the same mistakes that were made in Indianapolis from three years ago. Particularly for me, because this is my life: I go out to eat on occasion. I live like this because as a transgender woman 30 years of age in a relationship with a bisexual woman 31 years of age (nominally that’s essentially have a significant other, but since the state of Indiana doesn’t recognize same sex marriage, I am forced to use single as a relationship status and not on Facebook).

Like many families in East Central Indiana, I recently had to resign from Carey Services following a dispute over housekeeping skills, essentially no reliable transportation (the closest thing to reliable transportation is a bicycle and public transportation), yet only an affordable roof over my head and in Marion, have updated technology. They, sadly, rely on food stamps, now known as the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, or SNAP, and food banks, and perhaps more serious using credit cards to survive. And use of the SNAP program is growing, not shrinking.

Now, I know what you’re thinking: Enough with the sob story! People abuse the system to buy things they shouldn’t. If they would use a little common sense, they could get by on $132.46 per person per month. But while I was in Indianapolis, I had to rely heavily on credit cards (especially fast food from White Castle and convenience stores like Ricker’s across the street from the Fairgrounds and Circle K) and SNAP to get by. Thankfully, I usually go grocery shopping every month or when I am bored and had just completed my monthly run, and had enough left over for the Indianapolis trip and also did the same when I auditioned for American Idol in Pittsburgh two years ago.

However, this is an opportunity as a transgender woman nearing 31 years of age to boost my venues into 2014-15 television season. I’m insisting I have no intention of backing down from this fight and that I’ll be in for the long haul. But word back in Marion from several weeks and months according to notable critics of the relocation to Indianapolis are opposed just because of the recent violence in Indianapolis, to which I’ve acknowledged as “no municipality has such a safe neighbourhood if think long enough” .

All this comes as yours truly nearly a month after several of my friends have complained and criticized about my mode of transportation during the wake and funeral of the late Travis Simpkins on the afternoon of July 18, 2013. That caused yours truly to pass several new policies that will go into effect such as the 2-5-10-LIFETIME BAN (effective 7/4/14), a weather-related emergency plan (effective 10/4/13), a watered-down version of Jessica’s Policy (since 1/4/2013).

It is a tough stance to head off a rebellion among those concerned about yours truly that are worried that my relocation from Marion to Indianapolis might do more harm than good, leaving fewer choices for yours truly. Another reason has to be the recent violence that has plagued in Indianapolis to which Kayla Cox commented on July 15 in a Facebook post, “…you keep saying you want to get away from Marion because of all the shootings, have you been watching the news last week alone there was 13 shootings in 7 days down here!”

I’m seeing it as a statement as well: This is a big business opportunity for yours truly, and I’m in it to make money. Opponents are only saying I should let the opportunity pass because of the issues of crime and public safety. However, the late Robyn (Hurd) Matthewson (1961-2012), my BFF, had said “Ms. Zinn cannot continue to lose offers and opportunities with a flawed support system. We need to find a way to receive a fair value for every individual working with Ms.; Zinn and those who are friends with Ms. Zinn, whether recently or have known Ms. Zinn recently or before her gender transition,” Mrs. Matthewson said I would consider changing friend affiliations to another individual as a last resort, if existing friends of my friends did not agree to the terms sat forth in Mrs. Matthewson’s letter.
In 2012, I dropped friendships from with four individuals with three of the replacement friends that became interested. In the Mississinewa district, two existing friends go from a primary friend of Ava Zinn (yours truly), as I sought to make some upgrades: in the then-BFF #7 (now #6) position, yours truly moved the position from Brandon Jones to Ramona (Reed) Tyler, while in the BFF #12 position yours truly moved the position from Robert Craven to Jessica Baisden.. As a result, the friend changes also saw Alec Dailey and Justin Planck becoming the only remaining Top 12 (later 13) male friends with yours truly. The BFF #1 position moved from Robyn (Hurd) Matthewson to Holly (Everman) Willis following Matthewson’s death on May 24, 2012. At which point Wendy (Becker) Simpkins and Dara (Williams) Richards (becoming the only two newer close friends thus far) were promoted the BFF #11 and BFF #13 positions in 2012 and 2013, respectively.
“Make no mistake, Indianapolis is the perfect fit for yours truly. The crime rate and neighbourhood might not be the right place, but yeah,” I said, “You’ve got Franklin University (of Ohio) in Castleton as a college to replace Indiana Wesleyan in Marion, you’ve got the same stores you have in Marion as well as some new retailers in Indianapolis. In some cases you’ve got a typical Muncie and lots of store availability compared to Marion as well as the obvious answer–more LGBT friendly. It makes no sense to keep living in Marion and continue to lose offers and opportunities due to geography limitations and safety issues.”

Losing the opportunity to relocate to Indianapolis would be dicey for yours truly, further dragging down quality.

That’s the last thing Ava Zinn needs because she has dealt with far too many setbacks since the WISH-TV/Bright House Networks dispute.

Then there are those people that really don’t want yours truly in Indianapolis, the ones that say they don’t want Ava to leave Marion, the ones that are non-LGBT, the ones that do not support same sex marriage in the State of Indiana, the ones that support gay conversion therapy, the ones who would rather see Ava Zinn deceased.

“I think Ava’s making a bad decision of relocating to Indianapolis,” said a Grant Blackford official who’s opposed to the relocation. “She basically has no business in Indianapolis.”

Issues aside, Tyler, for one, thinks yours truly will need more research before making a final decision. Tyler, like Cox also thinks Indianapolis’ crime rate and public safety issues will only add fuel to the recent headaches of yours truly in recent years.

Besides, Tyler believes writing Zinn off is always a mistake. “That’s done too often and she (Ava)’s proven people wrong a lot,” she said.

Ava Zinn considering making changes following funeral snafu…

Travis Simpkins (1979-2013)

Travis Simpkins (1979-2013)

The last time I had attended a funeral and endured many more weaknesses revealed by several of my friends, the late Frank O’Bannon was governor of Indiana, American Idol was in its first season, and yours truly dealt with two deaths in her family three months apart and forced to find another college/university, that as of July 2013 has not become a reality, to replace Indiana Wesleyan University.

While I was at the wake of the late Travis Simpkins, Here’s my thought when I saw Wendy–I clearly saw a friend with raw emotional pain and knew first hand what that was like when my wife, Angie (Willis) passed in June 2010.
I would have stayed longer, but apparently left somewhat disappointed and at 10:00 on the morning of July 19, 2013 it was CONFIRMED (according to Sheena Fromholz) out of the concern of my safety due to inadequate transportation (I was well aware of the Heat Advisory and was already taking precautions, apparently that may prove to be the case according to long-time friend Ashley Dawson, unfortunately after yours truly biked from Marion to Ivanhoe’s in Upland last August after losing a wager with Jennifer (Tedder) Morris on who won American Idol.)

Unlike many companies that terminate individuals for blowing the whistle–While I was at Mr. Simpkins’ wake, I was alerted from either Ashley (Dawson) and/or Sheena (Fromholz) about what could potentially change the funeral policy of yours truly–should that become the case, those two ladies will get a reward. I was wanting to utilize the six hours, but was asked to leave feeling more disappointed. Many would have believed I was asked to leave because this parallels to a similar situation from Owen Weilert Duncan Funeral Home when my late brother handled my mother’s funeral arrangements, and knew my brother messed them up because he was the next of kin (I had wanted to do a memorial service for my mother and a burial, which did not happen as I was still in deep pain since I was close to my mother until late 1999 when my little 4-legged girl, Tiffani (formerly Timothy Rags) was born.

The BOTTOM LINE is that I am always supporting my good friends and Wendy happens to be one of them, regardless of what Mother Nature plans. I’ve been friends with Ashley and Wendy since 1995 and 1997, respectively, in times of need. Clearly, by the medium response to AVA ZINN, AvaZinn.com, my Facebook page and/or profile, many of you share the grief Wendy is currently going through and is clearly saddened when a spouse passes on. I know first-hand of what that is like first hand and I’m sharing the pain Wendy’s been through as my wife (Angela Willis) died three years ago.

I also understand the concerns whether I was asked to leave due to the heat advisory and my safety, and usually have a plan in action. I also had to factor whether the correct course was really being followed, considering yours truly being one of Mississinewa High School’s strongest Alumnus (as well as the very first transgender alum), higher expectations year after year, several (nearly 25 percent) of my friends or followers on Facebook and/or Twitter are tied directly or indirectly to Travis. I will assure you that I will be taking a closer look at every single action I am taking to make sure a similar snafu does not happen again.

Near the end of the funeral service, I joked about the fact that I still don’t have my first driver’s license and my driver’s ed teacher was also attending the funeral. But I had the next best thing called bicycle that had traveled nearly 2,700 miles since 2010 and has been to Gas City (many times), Muncie, Wabash, my hometown of Van Buren, Upland, and until a more appropriate time Fairmount. It’s been in three counties (Grant, Delaware, and Wabash.) The last time I checked it was not against the law to go to a funeral or wake via bicycle or even walking, and has never been against the law nor had a problem when I attended the wakes of Nichole Birky in April 2006, Jessica Berg in April 2010, and Ashley Rheam in March 2013.

Once again, thank you again for your support in my work to get you this basic information. I welcome your feedback, phone calls and emails. There is not one that is not important to us. We will continue to investigate every piece of information the public provides us and keep everyone updated in person and online with every development in this possible new policy in honor of the late Travis Simpkins called Travis’ Policy.

Update to Friends and Fans (2/15)

<![CDATA[

Updated: February 16, 2011 8:07 AM

No Carey Services employee wants to post a video update to her colleagues, and during the week of February 7, I find myself in that position. I had seen (with my own two eyes) of two of my plant production colleagues handling conflict inappropriately. It is unfortunate that the thoughtless acts of two individuals two individuals can have a negative effect on one colleague’s hard work at NoSirGifts and Carey Services.

Since the incident on Friday, February 11, 2011, the two individuals have been identified, written up and are being dealt with pending an outcome by Human Resources at Carey Services.

I’d like to thank my family, friends, acquaintances and fans for their support, I’ve received numerous phone calls, texts, emails, Facebook posts, and tweets thanking me for immediate action. A transgendered woman 28 years of age like myself has one currency, your trust.

CAUGHT IN THE ACT: Discrimination at Dollar Tree

<![CDATA[

I have apparently caught an employee of the Marion Dollar Tree in violation of “Indiana’s Transgender Law” of 2003. The law clearly states to use the name and pronoun preferred by the transgender person – in this case, referring to her as Ava and using female pronouns (and using apporpriate facilities).

Christine_from_dollar_tree

I took a survey at Dollar Tree’s web site after looking at my receipt and told them about my dissatisfying experience.

I actually became a victim of discrimination based on my gender identity. I am currently living as a woman and apparently I used the men’s restroom — and I felt humiliated. That is why I have to rate my visit to the Marion Dollar Tree unsatisfied. I am a 28 year old transgendered woman, and living as a woman means using the women’s restroom. I usually use the unisex restoom at other stors (shown while I was at Meijer) , and apparently when I had to use the restroom, I expected to use the women’s restroom and clearly that did not happen.

What I would like to see happen is that Dollar Tree be more respectful to the LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender) community at all stores. I have posted the alleged discrimination on a post on my web site at Aeverine.info.

I am sorry to say this, Dollar Tree, but you discrimianted your last transgendered individual. You have no respect for the LGBT community.I never, ever want to see that kind of discimination like that again.

Cid_02-05-11_094

This is not the first time it has happend – It has happened at the Grant County Rescue in 2006.

This is considered to be disrespect, and everyone that knows yours trluy (whether you’re an acquaintence from Ole Miss, NoSirGifts, and/or Carey Services or a friend or a family memeber of yours truly), referring to Aeverine Zinn as a woman and using feminine pronouns. But if you are caught adressing yours truly and of if I hear somone referring to Aeverine Zinn as a male using male pronouns (I know some of you from Ole Miss and a few family memebers have had a hard time adjusting to the change–and this is why a documentary called “THE BIG SWITCH TO AVA” will be shown in May of 2011 on YouTube and on Veoh) – YOU WILL GET CAUGHT, YOU WILL BE FINED 75 CENTS PER INCIDENT, AND BE NICELY TO REFER AEVERINE “AVA” ZINN AS A WOMAN AND USING FEMININE PRONOUNS.
