Pride Month: Standing Up To A Dress Code after 25 Years

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

FORT WAYNE and MARION, IN – Like any other woman, she often worries about her hair, her weight, her makeup, anything that impacting her femininity, or in my case even my bra size. Transgender women like myself are no different than any other woman but with several exceptions: bigger bone structure (most fixed by facial feminisation surgery), the dreaded beard shadow (effectively fixed with M2F hormones and electrolysis), and the fact this transgender woman has to keep her existing male reproductive organs for the time being. The reason for this woman is strictly for reproductive purposes as she still wants to have biological children and doing so as two women having sexual intercourse (obviously with my consent and the woman’s consent as well as being either in a long term relationship in addition of the woman’s benefit of automatically being a sex partner – a dating and relationship rule I’ve had since 1993) in order to conceive (only notable difference has to be the fact instead of a strap-on is the embarrassing imperfection as a woman has to be my enlarged clitoris and the second the erected enlarged clitoris is inserted into the woman’s vagina, conception occurs).

When I began my gender transition on December 1, 2004, I had a feeling that if I had rushed my transition, it will not only damage my family’s core beliefs (or even my core beliefs and values), lose a significant number of friends (there are some who I even went to high school with that I’m likely not going to be or even on good terms with) and I’ve responded by kicking them out of Facebook – I’ve banned and blocked as few as three and as many as 75 because they didn’t follow my rules such as addressing me as “Ava”, using male pronouns, or even not showing me the respect I’ve been entitled to or the other party unfriended me because I recently admitted to being a bully for 15 years after being bullied for over 25 years (there are times when bullying is a necessary tactic in order to get the truth uncovered and most of the time it is justified, effectively “bullying the bully” method). That is why a few years ago, I decided to implement the 2-5-10-BANNED FOR LIFE RULE to crack down on transphobia (it’s a very similar structure to Florida’s 10-20-LIFE Law) and to maintain perfection well as continuing many traditions and beliefs long before I began my gender transition.

Not to mention when I started transitioning my name (Frank to Ava), gender identity (male to female), and sexual orientation (straight male to gay female) may have changed as well as my appearance as a woman since I came out as not only as a transgender woman but subsequently as a woman identifying as a lesbian. There is always a feeling I get every time I step in front of a mirror or even looking at the damage male puberty did to me some 25+ years ago would do some damage eventually would effectively come back to haunt me.

Also not to mention, if viewers don’t like the way I am now living as a woman , my makeup, my weight or my outfit, they will make sure to let me know. And so far I’ve definitely have seen mostly negative comments that have caused me to stand up for what I believe in and defending my decision to transition from a man to a woman and responding the way I responded.

I found myself spending hours upon hours to make sure my overall appearance as a woman and image was perfect before I went out in public. Maintaining my appearance as a woman and hiding the dreadful male features I am cursed with may have been more exhausting than weightlifting or carrying a 50 pound bag of bird feeder. The experience shed light on how preoccupied I am with the details of my overall appearance, which made me realise after resuming counselling sessions after a 15 year a scene was the right decision after going through three rapes/sexual assaults.

LGBT Pride Month (June) 2017 is now in full swing. It’s hot. It is sticky. It’s a time of year when a woman or a transwoman’s appearance are a greater hassle than usual because of the humidity. Nonetheless, the battle to tame the dreaded male features (unfortunately) continues and no way of resolving them unless I pay extra money (something I don’t have) and the reason I auctioned off my virginity to Kymberly in July 2014 and still her $100,000 payment to deflower me wasn’t even enough. Kymberly finally admitted to me she had gambled it all away in Las Vegas in March 2017 and heard from one of my sources that Kymberly placed a $50,000 bounty on someone she held long standing grudge against, and that made me realise that I decided that I cannot marry Kymberly. What this means is the long-term relationship with Ava Zinn and Kymberly Alvaraz is ending in legal action.

Flashback to 1991 to 2001

I started questioning my gender identity and sexual orientation – unusual for someone eight years of age – while I was serving time at the since closed Silvercrest Children’s Developmental Center in New Albany until being released in December 1992. That was when I realised my childhood was already coming to an end and I knew I was already just too young to be a dad at 10 years of age. I remember I was about to use the restroom and saw something many see is quite frankly some will say made me retarded. I saw a girl (besides my mom) using the restroom and that made me realised I really was different, in addition to watching “The Little Mermaid” and I remember having some unusual crush but nowhere near as Mary Kay Letourneau. It was on the car ride from New Albany to Van Buren with my mom and brother, how fortunate I was and didn’t realise it at that time until I reconnected with someone on Facebook and did my best to stay in touch after leaving Silvercrest.
In middle school I had been picked on and bullied by that time it was for two years after being released from Silvercrest in New Albany. I wasn’t strong enough not because I have Autism. I had began to make an attempt to become a female thinking ‘I’d trade my male parts for female parts’ and have the same characteristics just like any other girl after I heard the term “sex change” in 1995.
Unfortunately, everyone I went to school with knows why I broke a classroom window on April 18, 1996, at least that was what they thought from their standpoint. Years later, and I recently admitted to bullying.

When I launched my web site in 1999 as a junior at Mississinewa High School, there seemed to be a standard of some sort. It was also when I launched the original INNewsCenter, and knew who I wanted to become after some needed TLC from the right resources and people I can know and trust, or so I had thought.

Several years after graduating from Mississinewa High School, there seemed to be a no standard or structure when I sat foot at Indiana Wesleyan University as a college freshman and literally had no structure as construction was going on that basically affected my performance academically. There were several theories why I simply was not emotionally ready for college and when I began the gender transition, I knew there was going to be a fourth and fifth requirement that Jennie Conrad did even mention on the infamous dis-enrollment letter I received on September 27, 2001. I knew there was (1) finding another college to attend to transfer credits to IWU, (2) have psychological and psychiatric clearance (but unfortunately not as a full-time student nor as a male), and (3) a signed release if I recall to even apply for readmission. It’s safe to say now it’s just only a matter of finding the right college, getting the right number of credits and the right tools and necessities needed to finally close the IWU Cold Case.

Being more successful emotionally as a woman and still a father.

I do know that after transitioning and after my eldest daughter, Samantha, graduated from high school and IWU, I knew as the father of Samantha Zinn, I knew I had done a lot better job with raising Samantha; a transgender daughter, Tiffani; a third daughter, Tabitha; and two adopted daughters, Ashli and Kylee. After Samantha graduated high school five years ago she decided to attend college in the fall of 2013 and she didn’t want to make the same mistakes I did. Sure enough, in the Spring of 2016, Samantha earned her Associates Degree in Communications and followed in my footsteps and my former father-in-law (aka Samantha’s maternal grandfather) beforehand. Though there were times when raising Samantha, Tiffani (then Timothy), Tabitha, and currently with my now only son Kenneth as well as Ashli and Kylee, I had to frequently found myself in a number of parenting and day care situations I knew it was the right parenting call as most of them were very bad situations that could have necessitated Child Protective Services. My mom, the late Laura Bakula, my aunt-in-law Sheena were a great babysitter to Samantha, Tiffani, Ashli, and Tabitha long before “Vote for the Girls” launched. I also knew I had done a far better job as a father and as a woman than my mom did when she raised myself and my late brother, most of the parenting and discipline skills my mom used with me and my skills with my children differs from my mom’s methods. One in particular was the “no TV punishment,” but often most of the “Vote for the Girls Punishment for Failure” when a female contestant doesn’t win were also used on my children in the form of the “punishment fitting the crime” or “a justified sanction”. In fact, recently I Googled ‘female fathers of children’ and it seems as though a woman fathering children are nearly as uncommon as same sex marriage.
There is a subtle or possible no-so-subtle message that the specific type of parenting of a child is the fact that the child always has a mother and father regardless and the terms “transgender mother” and “transgendered father” are useless. After I came out to my children and recently with Tabitha, I told them “I will always be your father you can still address me as ‘Dad’.” It was something I had in mind and realized that a gender transition is very similar to a television station changing its network affiliation.

With that in mind, in addition to already existing “Vote for the Girls” franchise and several other cultural references to Lauren Brill, Brandi Chastain, and two-woman anchor teams becoming the norm, as well as basically creating the “Producers Have A Choice, Viewers Don’t” philosophy ten years ago when what is now known as INNCD 47 Action News launched (two women co-anchor news, a female meteorologist, and a female sports director). After I first watched a South Bend late newscast with Cindy Ward and Deborah Daniels at the anchor desk 15 years ago, I knew and remembered and had that flashback that first time I ever had lesbian sex.

Flashback to Spring and Summer 2002

It was that particular moment when I had “lesbian sex” with my first wife Angie, she was being impregnated by me (for the last time living as a male before coming out as a transgender woman the following year) and Angie being pregnant with my daughter Tabitha. It was also around Father’s Day of 2002 and a month after my mom died from liver and kidney failure. At the time, I had recently healed from an injury I sustained after I had attempted to arrest my own brother for kidnapping my then-2 year old son Timothy (now daughter Tiffani). It was also around that time I had also just experienced the first time in my life I’d ever been raped. I knew I had failed as male and tried my best to mask the emotional pain and never even told anyone nor did I even realized it until my brother drowned at Pine Lake.

Today/June 2017

There seems to be a subtle or maybe not-so-subtle message that looking modest means everyone looking exactly the same. So recently as part of pride month as well as a “Vote for the Girls” Punishment for Failure–Normani Kordei finished third place on Dancing with the Stars and despite the Moderators’ Save being used to decline Lauren Duski’s second place finish–based from what I had seen during not only those two competitions but also took the deaths of Holly Everman, Perri Johnson, and other factors, I had to overturn the Moderators’ Save and decided that there was not going to be a winning moderator. The pink, purple, blue, and red teams all were declared losers and face the most demeaning and diabolical punishments in “Vote for the Girls” history.

The transmen on the red team (as well as Devin on the blue team) have to go out in public in nothing but a breast binders while the transwomen on the purple team (including myself, as well as Kendra, Hillary, and Maci on the pink team as well as Bria Savage on the blue team and Lydia Delagatto on the red team) go out in public in only a bra and pants/skirt for not just Pride Month (June) 2017, but also July and August as well as the America’s Got Talent 12 and So You Think You Can Dance 14 competitions and just let biology do its work.

To my surprise, amazement, and most importantly self-acceptance as well as self-worth (I only did it on three occasions on the Vote for the Girls set), I actually kind of like being outside in just a bra and pants or skirt. The outfit match my gender identity as a woman, sexual orientation as a lesbian and overall appearance as a woman, yet could use some feminization. I waited until it was the right time to do so and many of you are probably thinking ‘THIS IS WAR!’ It may be necessarily something I want to do for the month of June but additionally when I’m in the mood or feeling intimate or looking at a biological female I’m interested in.

Despite my decision to go out in what some of you say is inappropriate and in bad taste, I was still nervous about it. The first time I was in a bra but with no shirt was on May 12, 2011 when Ryan Seacrest announced that Lauren Alaina and Haley Reinhardt were in the American Idol 10 Top 3 and the term “pull a Brandi Chastain” became well known. That’s because I think transwomen and women in our society and most certainly women and transwomen are scrutinized for too long. Every bit of the appearance of a woman and/or transwoman is picked apart.

While I was a bit self conscious, I had grabbed a shirt just in case should the “No Shirt. No Shoes. No Service” card come into play as this was constantly on my mind the whole time and trying to calm down chafing as I have yet to begin hormone therapy, I did my job as a transgender woman. In the process I realized the photos I posted on Social media should and—I hope do or will inspire more transwomen or even transmen binding his chest—speak louder to my professionalism as a webmaster than the way I look.

I’m just a woman: Officially a Transgender Woman since December 1, 2004. That’s not going to change.

I’m just a lesbian like any other woman who identifies as such: I was attracted to women as a male, and still find women attractive. But if the woman’s currently straight and is in a relationship with me and one benefit of the relationship is obviously having her as my sex partner (a rule I’ve had since 1993)… She will have to come out as a bisexual sooner or later. No ifs and or buts about it.

My gender identity and sexual orientation as a woman reflects the values and the family history I’ve always had long before the gender switch from man to woman and my work reflects my ability. The name, gender identity, and sexual orientation may change when transitioning from one sex to another, but everything else does not change, such as who you were before the transition, your personality, your lifestyle, your friends and family, etc.

Not even the DNA or chromosomes change with the gender transition: males and transfemales always have and always will have the dreaded Y chromosome and WILL ALWAYS BE A FATHER while females and transmales will ALWAYS BE A MOTHER.

Finally I can say I’m proud of my accomplishments as a woman despite the imperfections that were given to me such as the Y chromosome, the beard shadow (mostly unseen in photos if they aren’t covered or retouched), the flat chest (or my size 38AA cup) , the enlarged clitoris (this is what goes into the woman’s vagina to make children – the dreaded P-E-N-I-S), the big lumps between my legs (the male reproductive organs that produce sperm that go into the woman’s vagina). I can also say that once I am finally done having children and the timing is right then I can start the orchidectomy and begin estrogen and progesterone therapy for the remainder of my life, and help me get across the message that, like so many other transgendered men and women, not afraid to be different. Rather, I’m excited to embrace the truth of what a gender transition should look like in my view with all of the benefits and options available while they’re still intact before any genital reassignment surgery.

Ava Zinn launches “Vape Back! with Ava Zinn”

Yours truly (Ava Zinn) today announced the launch of an Indiana based YouTube channel dedicated to the vaping community that extends the portfolio of Aeverine Zinn Holdings (AZH) Internet Ventures.

It’s the debut week of Vape Back! with Ava Zinn. Ava Zinn is excited about the launch of the fifth internet venture from AZH joining AvaZinn.com, INNewsCenter, Vote for the Girls and Housing Hell.

Here’s the great news about Vape Back! – anyone residing in all of Indiana’s 92 counties can make suggestions of any vaping product for Ava to try (some restrictions do apply and must be approved by Ava herself) for a review.

“I’m pleased to confirm that I have made the decision to launch ‘Vape Back! with Ava Zinn,’ which is accretive to Aeverine Zinn Holdings and good for the State of Indiana as well as the LGBT community with whom I remain a strong partner as a transgendered woman,” said Zinn. “This transaction underscores our sharp focus on consistently improving the value of my Internet portfolio and on driving profitability for AZH.”

Today’s announcement takes place against the backdrop of a prior announcement of the subsidized housing smoking ban which Ava Zinn must comply by July 2018. Given this fact, Ava Zinn either had to smoke outside or get evicted. That particular decision would have meant a setback from which Ava Zinn will never recover from as she would be face homelessness since many communities in Indiana also have added e-cigarettes and vaping to existing smoking bans.

Today’s announcement does not impact AZH’s Vote for the Girls and INNewsCenter, yet does impact AvaZinn.com and Housing Hell.

We’re taking the conversation to YouTube across Marion, Muncie, and Kokomo during the summer of 2017. If you want to join the conversation and make a suggestion, email Ava Zinn at webmaster @ avazinn.com or go to the contact page.

Ava Zinn: Why I’m expanding the Weather section…

Since launching AvaZinn.com on November 1,1999, AvaZinn.com was just the official website of yours truly and the flagship site that I am the webmaster of.

Two more sites–INNewsCenter and Vote for the Girls, were respectively launched on November 1, 1999 and April 28, 2010. Webmastering the three sites took a lot of hard work and planning over the years.

When I ran and operated the original INNewsCenter from 1999 to 2011, a feature called The Indiana Weather Wall provided the look and feel of that particular site. I remember posting the very first clip on INNewsCenter. What soon developed was the very first internet television station that evolved to nothing more than a news-intensive general entertainment independent station called INNCD 47 that was spun off from INNewsCenter in 2008.

In 2011, I closed INNewsCenter not realising the damage that visitors of that site suffered after the site closed on June 30, 2011. The weather wall, posts on INNewsCenter were gone never to be seen again.

In 2014, I revived the INNewsCenter site with a bare minimum archive post and currently a section of this website you are viewing right now — AvaZinn.com. I mentioned that the 2014 revival is unlike the original INNewsCenter. The Weather Wall moved from INNewsCenter to AvaZinn.com and has found a place ever since.

This year, I decided that after announcing AvaZinn.com was unveiling a new look, I also wanted to expand the weather section of this web site. There will be a weather section for ALL 92 counties of Indiana, a feature I considered when I launched INNewsCenter in 1999.

This expansion of the weather section will be the biggest expansion in site history. It will be a lot of hard work and take a number of hours.

Meanwhile, at Vote for the Girls (I’m talking about the whole franchise, not just the American version), there has been a massive expansion. There are now nearly 40 moderators and villains. I have only been working on the appearance of the American Vote for the Girls and just started to use new graphics style that I designed for NoSirGifts Fantasy Television Stations that began to roll out just last year.

I’m hopeful you will see the improvements made to AvaZinn.com once the renovations to this site are completed. Again thank you for visiting AvaZinn.com over the past 17 years.

Sincerest,

Ava's Signature

Ava Zinn Statement Regarding March 12, 2015 Arrest

arrest85

MARION, INDIANA (March 13, 2015) – On the afternoon of March 12, 2015, I was in negotiations with officials regarding the future of the Aeverine Zinn Holdings facility in Marion, Indiana (while I’m still also in negotiations with various apartment complexes in Indianapolis and will start serious negotiations in Muncie that will end over 30 years in Grant County and nearly 20 years in Marion). I’m sure that the parties involved that Thursday afternoon less than a mile from Walmart and Lowe’s in Marion are doing the best they can during the renovations that will displace yours truly, my girlfriend, Kymberly, and my family that will result (as far as my sources have told me) will cause me a major inconvenience.

When my mother passed on May 10, 2002, I swore to her on her death bed the night before at Ball Memorial Hospital, I would do a better job at raising my existing children and future children of mine–to this day nearly 13 years after and a gender transition from Margaret Zinn’s youngest son to now her only daughter, I am far more successful in over the ten years living as a woman. Otherwise, I would be in a gravesite (and no plans to do so).

Unfortunately, with the WISH-TV/Bright House dispute in October 2008 now the causing just 89 percent of the financial problems I’ve faced since my dismissal from Indiana Wesleyan University on September 27, 2001, and the solution that will resolve those two disputes once and for all by relocating out of Marion. That solution nearly came to a close last year, but fell through due to someone who THINKS HE OR SHE KNOWS MY BEST INTERESTS (when that person really doesn’t).

Last year, when I announced that was auctioning off my virginity and having sex for the final time as a biological male on April 18, 2014 (after I had threatened to do following Ellona Santiago’s elimination and such announcement was made after Jessica Meuse landed in the bottom two) of which resulted in a long term relationship with my current girlfriend (Kymberly Alvaraz). The sexual act happened on August 28, 2014 at my home and took every single precautionary measure available. That resulted in Kymberly cheating on her husband at the time Kymberly and I had sexual intercourse (Kymberly’s ex-husband, Dan Alvaraz, has since passed after he filed for an at-fault divorce).  As part of the deal, I did not have any meat from March 1 to December 25 resulting in pretty much have since adopted a low meat habit (from now on, I will only eat meat if a female contestant wins or on a major holiday). Also as part of the deal, I have added all of the major Denver sports teams in addition to supporting the Colts and Bears (as they’re in different conferences and became a problem in Super Bowl XLI), the Pacers, the Fever, and Notre Dame (typically in generally only watch such sporting events when a VFTG competition isn’t happening)–but I figured since Indianapolis doesn’t havre an MLB or NHL team, I’d support Kymberly cheering on the Coloado Avalanche and Colorado Rockies as well as the Denver Broncos (since Peyton Manning has some popularity in both Indianapolis and Denver) and Denver Nuggets (in addition to the Pacers by coincidence both the Pavers and Nuggets were part of the NBA-ABA merger). Other parts include the fact that Kymberly spent nearly $50,000 since the relationship formally began on January 4, 2015–such occourances include was when I ran out of food, Kymberly managed to pick up a couple of restaurants chain gift cards and is more than willing to find real solutions to problems I face, of which I commend her for doing an awesome job for a biological woman that relocated from Colorado to Indiana after spending nearly all of her 46 years in Denver.

Then towards the end of 2014, when I announced that Kymberly and had reached an agreement, and after she was found not guilty of involuntary manslaughter, I knew Kymberly was an honest woman from the day she sat foot that night in May 2010–what I saw in Kymberly clearly told me from staring at her eyes and long brunette hair told me the story she was passed over for a job promotion (of which she mentioned happend in 1993, and she said she wouldn’t go through that again.)

Once “Stalker” drew to a close on WISH-TV as the final CBS program to air on that station before moving to WTTV (channel 4), I had a feeling that justice was served somehow when WISH-TV lost its CBS affiliation, and given the changes that I made to Vote for the Girls to allow my moderator panel to decline DaNica Shirey’s defeat on “The Voice.” I realized that and the fact I was now with a woman 16 years my senior, and after being alerted about another resignation–at which point one era ended and another era began (ala from Peyton Manning to Andrew Luck).

Fast forward to being alerted on February 25, 2015 at 6:00 pm and that’s when I went to battle mode and ready for a fighting until a favorable solution is found. I alerted everyone involved and there’s going to be a problem and when I learned of the date the renovations were starting on the same March 16, 2015 season premiere of Dancing with the Stars–find a neutral site became my top priority for Vote for the Girls and that is what started this whole mess (and because of changes I made in 2002, the person that causes the schedule conflict or is found to be the prime suspect will be confronted). It’s the basis of what is considered to be “ProducersNews Directors Have a Choice, Viewers Don’t” and the fact since taking over the Zinn family Head of Household in 2002 some new rules I’ve implemented such as not being forgiven until one’s death and abolished old rules such as the no TV punishment (which was the first rule I got rid of, and the closest thing to it now is pretty much not letting any of my children watch my YouTube videos for Vote for the Girls–which are typically TV-14 (generally I don’t allow my little girl Tabby to watch such programs until March 27, 2017–the day she is 14 years of age), TV-MA (generally the uncensored versions) and those TV ratings that are on the upper land corner when uploaded by yours truly are there as many of my friends have children of their own.

Then was the day that could have spawned another April 18, 1996 or September 27, 2001–both those dates fell on a Thursday as did March 12, 2015.

There was a reason why I had no choice besides resign from Carey Services on May 31, 2013 after four years beause of the circumstances of keeping up a facility that’s housing the set of VFTG and your own home to keep costs down, in addition to declining mental health (and I believe the incident on March 12, 2015 could’ve been another mental health scare depending on who you ask), and a family that needs my attention.

When I learned about the the solution that was offered (which didn’t meet my expectations) and it will be declined because it does not meet my needs and that is what I believe caused me to eventually have a very bad night in nearly 20 years that got me arrested earlier in the day and ejected from the Vote for the Girls set March 12, 2015 is the fact that as the webmaster of one of the most popular reality-based fan sites like Vote for the Girls is that the are certain rules and standards that I must comply by is the fact that when I made the agreement when I launched Vote for the Girls, all of the active moderators and producers (in my case, the webmaster, host, head moderator, and excecuitive producer) MUST be present at the set on the performance and/or available to tape the presentation of results program on the American version from 7 PM until all of the moderators have voted on performance night as well as the final product ready for upload on to the You Tube channel (a process that takes as much as 12 hours to render a 45 minute clip and another six to be uploaded onto the YouTube channel) on results night, and that cannot be delayed, interrupted, pre-empted (unless the last female contestant’s elimination leaves no Vote for the Girls picks remaining at which point the competition ends and the subsequent remaining episodes will be replaced by a “Classic VFTG”) or delayed for any reason–even weather delays, cable TV blackouts, television reception issues, etc. A violation of this occurred in July 2012 and that didn’t go too well and it is something that cannot happen on Vote for the Girls again. I Know that sounds like an unreasonable demand, but it is necessary as there are no other television providers that will ever meet my needs.

Upon learning the available options didn’t meet my standards, I knew this was a dangerous situation and it was quite clear  the only solution I came up with was the hotel room for a week (a third would eventually stay in the facility during renovations when the competition is in progress usually 24-48 hours). I had preferred to “do a temporary transfer of AT&T U-Verse” from my home to the neutral site and back until renovations were completed (that was a solution Kymberly came up with). Then, that “heat of the moment” when I was pretty much went Judge Judy on the official and in attack mode as if my life in danger. I’m sure that 25 years of client experience will say, “Well played, Ava” while others will simply say “What we’re you thinking?” Clearly emotions were high that Thursday afternoon as I’ve seen in various scenarios (more recently between moderators on VFTG) from fights to outbursts to yours truly at times being a bitch for being extremely passionate, which often times I do swear, I demand perfection, and very rarely blowing cigarette smoke in someone’s face (ala Morton Downey, Jr.)

Was I right to get in an official’s face and yelling at someone? Was it unavoidable? Was it the first time I’ve lashed out? Was it gonna be something that made me proud now, but in 20 years won’t be?

Sure getting in a screaming match, pounding the table, and getting in someone’s wasn’t the best way. When I did that, the first thing I figured, “My life is gonna be screwed up, so is yours for screwing up mine.” Another thought just went through my mind, was the outfit wore a black shirt and black pants (and it was the first time that particular outfit was the appropriate attire since I tend to wear such when I am in a fight mode or when someone connected to me or Kymberly dies). I knew I that I was right to wear that outfit, and nonetheless, I was arrested for assault and disorderly conduct.

I have learned this year, that doing these risky behaviours in 2014, were necessary and demonstrating passion.  Other times that became necessary and didn’t have any alternatives also included some past notable events and often are very brutal Vote for the Girls punishments for failure (if a female contestant doesn’t win). The examples are being without a hotel room in Indianapolis (twice in 2010 and 2013) and Pittsburgh (2011), biking four hours one way from Marion to Muncie (three times in 2011, 2014, and another will happen in 2015), biking three hours from Marion to Wabash in 2011, biking two hours in what felt like 95° heat from Marion to Upland in 2012, as there other reasonable solutions available. The risky behaviours are due to the fact that I have lost faith in Marion and want out as quickly as possible and the reason there are certain stores in Marion I decided to stop going to altogether (examples include Aldi and Lance’s New Market in Marion after being falsely accused of leaving the scene of an accident on July 14, 2014, of which an Aldi store in Muncie and Lance’s New Market in Gas City serving as replacement.)

As a result of this incident and arrest, I have decided to postpone the launch of the Australian version of Vote for the Girls until August 2015 (as a result, my moderator panel will participate will participate in the next Dancing with The Stars Australia competitions for five years, regardless of the outcomes of any subsequent “X Factor Australia” and “The Voice of Australia” competitions) and call off the second series of the United Kingdom version of Vote for the Girls pending the winner of The Voice UK 4 that will end on April 4, 2015 (in the event should a male contestant win The Voice UK a 4 and/or the Moderators’ Save is used to decline the VFTGUK Loss, My moderator panel will not be participating in the Britian’s Got Talent 9 makeup competition and will instead participate in five “Strictly Come Dancing” makeup competitions, regardless of the outcome of any subsequent competitions of “The X Factor UK” and “The Voice UK”, yet will participate in Britain’s Got Talent 10 instead).

I have also decided after Sarina-Joi Crowe’s elimination the night of March 12, 2015, that my moderators on the Vote for the Girls panel in the United States, United Kingdom, and Australia will all participate in the typical Leg Beards for Breast Cancer Awareness in October 2015 as well as No Shave November 2015–even if a female contestant and/or a supported contestant on all three Vote for the Girls adaptations wins American Idol 14, The Voice USA 8, So You Think You Can Dance 12 (if a female contestant does not win American Idol ), America’s Got Talent 10 (if a female does not win The Voice), The Voice UK 4, and The Voice of Australia 4.

The 28 year relationship between the mental health clinic and yours has always provided me the right to reject objectionabe solutions or treatments that doesn’t meet my needs. And just because I’ve been emotionally disabled for nearly 30 years when I was diagnosed with Autism (later Aspergers Syndrome and diagnosed as a transsexual woman) doesn’t mean I lack the knowledge and such behavior can be justified.

If my actions on March 12, 2015 have caused more Americans to pay more attention and get more fans to Vote for the Girls and showing support, I believe I will have accomplished a mission of mine.

2014 Year in Review

The following is a list of events on AvaZinn.com and Vote for the Girls in 2014. Events listed include information about changes of Zinn Family and friend, controversies and  disputes.

Month Day Event LINK
January 1 Ava Zinn began an over-the-air/Internet stream (via AT&T U-Verse) hybrid as a television provider
(replacing Bright House), the Indianapolis stations (except WNDY and newscasts on WISH, WXIN and WTHR) were replaced by
out-of-market (and out-of-state) affiliates of the corresponding networks, including stations in Chicago (WBBM-CBS, WLS-ABC, WGN-CW, WMAQ-NBC, and WFLD-Fox), Miami (WPLG-ABC and WSVN-Fox), Tampa (WTVT-Fox and WTSP-CBS), New York (WCBS-CBS and WNYW-Fox), Chattanooga (WDSI-Fox), Harrisburg/York (WPMT-Fox, WGAL-NBC, WHTM-ABC), and Dayton (WRGT-Fox).  The substitution began on July 15, 2012 and continued in 2014.
March 1 Following the eliminations of American Idol favorites Marrielle Sellars and Jillian Jensen, Zinn goes on a meat strike (essentially going vegetarian) for an undetermined amount of time. It is later revealed in a  Twitter post on March 28 the meat strike will last for the rest of the year, and will last until January 3, 2015. The meat strike ended on December 25, 2014.
15 Vote for the Girls UK broadcasts the final Ariel Swaringen appearance before her death 1 week later.
18 and 20 The final episode of the original US version of Vote for the Girls with Ariel Swaringen as moderator. Swaringen had died on March 22; the remainder of the fifth season of Vote for the Girls USA were shown broadcast as an “in memoriam” tribute to her from March 25 to the season finale.
April 5 Vote for the Girls UK gets its first loss on The Voice UK series 3.
10 Five days after Jermain Jackman won The Voice UK series 3 and upon seeing that Malaya Watson had the lowest number of votes on American Idol, Holly Everman is shoved to the floor when a fight begins on the Vote for the Girls set between moderators of Vote for the Girls US and Vote for the Girls UK. The fight originated between Holly Everman and Khayla Chow, after Everman called Chow a bi-black bimbo.
18 Ava Zinn announced on her YouTube channel after learning Jessica Meuse landed in the bottom two that she followed through on her threat to auction her virginity as a male. It was announced on November 29 that 47 year old Kymberly Alvaraz, originally from Denver, Colorado had been the winning bidder.
29 Upon seeing that Bria Kelly was not saved on the sixth season of The Voice of America of which criticized the moderators for not including Indianapolis native Josh Kaufman as a Vote for the Girls pick because the site’s operations are in the state of Indiana, yet supported Alisha Bernhardt and Marrielle Sellars on American Idol 11 and 13, respectively. Kellie Rock stormed out muttering “this is a f—ing joke” while confrontation between Maribel Mort and Veronica Willis (in which Mort referring to either Willis or Everman as “slutty bi-bimbos”) led to Willis punching Mort into the face and forcefully shoving Mort to the floor, and subsequently a full-scale brawl in the audience with items hurled and punches thrown. Audience members, several stage hands, Jameson, and Everman themselves got involved, with Jameson and Everman intervening to separate the pair. In the process, Ava Zinn was struck in the head by a a can of shaving cream and escaped uninjured yet washed out the shaving cream off her head.
May 1 Upon hearing Sam Woolf was eliminated, Ava Zinn stripped naked after she celebrated by spontaneously whipping off her shirt and falling to her knees in her bra (a la Brandi Chastain in the 1999 FIFA Women’s World Cup finals). It was not the first time Zinn “pulled a Brandi Chastain” as three years earlier after learning Haley Reinhart and Lauren Alaina made the Top 3 of American Idol’s tenth season.
6 During The Voice season 6 Top 8 results after learning Christina Grimmie was saved, Ava Zinn creates more controversy by “Twerking,” a YouTube that some described as “raunchy” and “provocative”. It also included a strip tease by Zinn, which critics had similar comments about.
20 Supporters of Christina Grimmie (via Vote for the Girls) and Josh Kaufman (via Indianapolis NBC affiliate WTHR) engage in a Twitter and Facebook brawl involving WTHR anchors and Vote for the Girls moderators. Jennifer (Tedder) Morris, a supporter of Kaufman initiated the conflict with fans of Grimmie when another supporter of Grimmie (Holly Everman) began intercepting and cyberbullying non-supporters of eventual American Idol 13 4th place contestant Jessica Meuse after Zinn posted incorrect voting info for Meuse and calling supporters for Kaufman “girl-hating commies.” The fifth season of the site’s YouTube series was already called off on April 17 a day before Vote for the Girls founder and Aministrator Ava Zinn announced she was auctioning off her virgininty and her desire to have sexual interourse with a biological female for the final time as a biological male as part of Zinn’s ongoing gender transition from male to female, a threat Zinn made earlier if a male won The Voice and/or American Idol, which did happen on both The Voice and American Idol. The following day after Christina Grimmie’s third place finish (and Vote for the Girls’ first loss on The Voice), on May 21, Everman had shaved off her traditionally long hair immediately upon learning Jena Irene (Asciutto) was runner-up, and consequently, along with Vote for the Girls moderator Kellie Rock began to wear breast binders for the rest of the summer, while Ava Zinn and Kathi Jameson wore strapless tops and halters for the remainder of the summer.
June 1 For the Vote for the Girls Punishment following the losses on The Voice 6 and American Idol 13, the transgendered women (Ava Zinn and Kathi Jameson) and biological women (Kellie Rock and Holly Everman) essentially trade respective gender identity roles: To coincide with their gender transitions from male to female, Zinn and Jameson begin strapless tops, halters, and bikinis over the summer, accompanied by Zinn not wearing a skirt or dress for the summer while Jameson continues her gender transition with skits and dresses; Everman and Rock returns the favor by binding their breasts to create a flat-chested appearance, with Everman passing as a male after her head is shaved and appearing more masculine and wearing male clothing (later revealed to be her father’s) and Rock passing as a woman that had breast cancer.
26 It is announced that Ava will bring INNewsCenter back after a three year hiatus. The revival of INNewsCenter launched on December 28.
July 11 The sixth season premiere of the American adaptation of Vote for the Girls premieres with “Ava’s Virginity Auction,” following the decision to put Ava Zinn’s virginity to the highest female bidder, and the media firestorm that followed after the site’s failure to support Christina Grimmie and Jena Irene Asciutto to victory and a perfect season.
19 As part of a Vote for the Girls Reward as winning moderators, Ava Zinn (as the winning moderator for Tessannne Chin’s victory on The Voice 5), makes the bicycle trip from Marion to Muncie (clad in a strapless pantsuit) visiting Concannon’s Bakery and Cafe (as well as stopping by a Dollar General store in nearby Gaston, in addition to Dollar Tree, Walmart, Speedway, and Aldi) in Holly Everman’s hometown of Muncie. Everman returned the favor spanning three days starting on August 12, 2014 when she biked from Castleton Square Mall to Anderson, from Anderson to Marion (at which necessitated Everman’s relocation to Marion after announcing she and her wife, Veronica, divorced after two years) on August 13, and finally from Marion to Van Buren to visit the Popcorn Festival.
August 11 Tribune Broadcasting signs a deal with CBS to have WTTV (channel 4) become the network’s Indianapolis affiliate. The move to WTTV, effective New Year’s Day 2015, will end CBS’ 58-year relationship with WISH-TV (channel 8), and is reportedly the result of disagreements between CBS and the LIN Media-owned WISH over the network’s demands for reverse compensation of retransmission consent from its affiliates. This eventually spawned the second major network affiliation switch in Indianapolis in over 35 years as WRTV (channel 6) and WTHR (channel 13) switched networks with NBC moving from WRTV to WTHR and ABC moving from WTHR to WRTV, and was confirmed December 22 that WTTV and WISH will swap affiliations, with CW moving from WTTV to WISH.
22 Holly Everman is arrested for her second DUI on the northeast side of Indianapolis after driving northbound on the southbound lanes of Binford Boulevard, and was recorded as having a 0.17 percent blood-alcohol content. She was sentenced to one year probation in a Marion County, Indiana court in Indianapolis on September 10, 2014 and another year of probation and 40 hours of community service five days later in a Grant County court for her role in the Vote for the Girls brawl that began the brunt of Everman’s troubles. She entered a rehabilitation clinic for alcohol abuse and anger management counseling as part of her court obligation, of which she is forbidden from consuming or possessing alcohol and her driving privileges were revoked for a period of six months and 20 days (expiring on March 30, 2015). She will be subject to random drug testing as a condition of her probation. In addition, the judge stipulated that any subsequent OWI or DUI charge in a three year period will be treated as a felony. Everman was also forbidden from doing any media interviews or making comments related to the Vote for the Girls (other than voting but cannot post who she voted for) on social media during the suspension.
24 Vote for the Girls USA is dealt another loss as the site was unable to help Audrey Kate Geiger and Dana Williams to the site’s first victory on the ABC show “Rising Star.”
September 3 Valerie Rockey becomes the first Vote for the Girls supported contestant to be saved from the site’s first loss on the American version of So You Think You Can Dance.
18 Following the defeat of Emily West, a Vote for the Girls-supported contestant on the ninth America’s Got Talent, it is announced the terminations of Khayla Chow and Kathi Jameson from the respective United Kingdom and United States adaptations of Vote for the Girls following previous incidents between moderators. Jameson would later appear on the Australian adaptation of Vote for the Girls.
26 Production of the United Kingdom adaptation of Vote for the Girls was nearly abruptly halted by two guests, later identified as Khayla Chow and Victoria Glassering that would cause trouble. This was due to the fact that other commitments of Zinn’s had to be fulfilled and according to Zinn’s contract production of Vote for the Girls could not be rescheduled, stopped, or delayed for any reason, even weather delays.

A third guest (identified as Witney Mitchell), unaware Zinn’s schedule until being informed at a later date, tried to disrupt production 90 minutes into the rehearsal for the start of the second series, startling moderator Tracia Ward and creating a disruption.

29 A viewer of the American adaptation of Vote for the Girls, intentionally crashes a truck into the building’s lobby as the viewer went too far and one Vote for the Girls moderator (Karly Ryder, Jr.) was booed off the set and her future on the site was put in jeopardy. Ryder as well as Zinn, subsequently received death threats from some viewers, and in one instance the same viewer threatened to murder Holly Everman. No staffers were injured as a result of the incident. Ava did not upload the Dancing with the Stars result on its YouTube channel.
October 1 For the fifth consecutive year, the moderator panel of both the American and British adaptations of Vote for the Girls participate in the Leg Beards for Breast Cancer as part of the moderator’s Punishment for Failure after Christina Grimmie finished third place on the sixth season of The Voice and Jena Asciutto finished runner-up on the thirteenth season of American Idol
21 Just a month after she was terminated, Khayla Chow, is shot and killed in a shoot out with three Vote for the Girls moderators (Kymerly Alvaraz, Kendra Ray, and Julia Passalt) upon learning Vote for the Girls-supported contestant Brittany Butler was not saved by Pharrel Williams on the seventh season of The Voice, as well as violating a restraining order Zinn filed after Chow’s termination. Alvaraz suffered a gunshot wound to one of her calves as a result of the incident.Alvaraz is later charged with second-degree involuntary manslaughter and was later found not guilty of the charges while Ray is later charged with assisting a criminal.
November 1 The moderator panel of both the American and British adaptations of Vote for the Girls continue the moderator’s Punishment for Failure by participating in No Shave November for the first time in the site’s history.
12 Upon seeing Mia Pfirrman was not saved by her mentor Adam Levine on the seventh season of “The Voice,” Karly Ryder, Jr. gouges the eyes of two of Ava Zinn’s children using a pair of stilettos and the following day, Ava Zinn announces the terminations of Ryder from of Vote for the Girls USA and is replaced by Tracia Ward. Karly Ryder, Jr. would later appear on the Australian adaptation of Vote for the Girls.
18 A day after Vote for the Girls USA gets its only victory of 2014 after the elimination of Tommy Chong and Peta Murgatroyd, Ava Zinn announces she will impose the “Ava Zinn Close Friend Mandate” beginning at the start of 2015 and taking the Vote for the Girls Pledge as a condition of remaining close friends with Ava Zinn.
20 Dan Alvaraz, the husband of Kymberly Alvaraz, files for an at-fault divorce, citing adultery by his wife, Kymberly (Christian) Alvaraz and naming Ava Zinn and fellow transwoman Kristina Chow from Houston as co-respondents. News of the divorce filing became public when it was first widely reported that Kymberly Alvaraz and Ava Zinn are involved in a lesbian relationship, and is confirmed on November 28.
24 Alfonso Ribiero wins the nineteenth season of Dancing with the Stars, giving Holly Everman her fifth victory as the winning moderator. It would be the only Vote for the Girls USA Victory in 2014 (not counting the Moderators’ Saves of Valerie Rockey and DaNica Shirey)
25 The moderator panel of Vote for the Girls USA unanimously decide to use their Moderators’ Save on DaNica Shirey, the last remaining female contestant following the eliminations of Reagan James and Anita Antionette, on the seventh season of The Voice. Shirey is eliminated the following Tuesday.
28 Kymberly Alvaraz is found not guilty of fatally shooting Khayla Chow.
29 As part of an ongoing negotiation deal with Zinn and her desire to relocate to Indianapolis, it is revealed that Ava Zinn had successfully auctioned off her virginity to Kymberly (Christian) Alvaraz for an undisclosed sum with the sexual encounter that reportedly took place at Zinn’s home on August 31, 2014 with Alvaraz signing a three-year long term relationship deal with Zinn to have Alvaraz as the sixth girlfriend of Ava Zinn. The Ava Zinn/Kymberly Alvaraz relationship agreement ended Alvaraz’s 30-year relationship with Dan Alvaraz, Kymberly’s husband since 1994, is reportedly the result of irreconcilable differences between Dan Alvaraz and Kymberly as well as disagreements between Ava Zinn and several of Zinn’s friends on her Facebook profile over the Zinn’s demands for compensation. Zinn also indicated that as of January 4, 2015 pay yours truly a monthly fee of $2.50 or $35 a year if a majority of Ava Zinn’s Facebook friends choose not to support Ava Zinn’s popular, yet controversial Vote for the Girls the site securing a victory. Zinn also indicated she will find someone that will take the Vote for the Girls pledge as a condition of maintaining such close friendship as Holly Everman and Rachael Passalt are such friends that have taken the Vote for the Girls pledge.
December 1 Three children of the Vote for the Girls moderator panel begin their gender transition from male to female exactly ten years after Ava Zinn began her own transition. Rachael Passalt, Denise Alvaraz, and Tiffani Zinn, all become the respective transgendered daughters of Julia Passalt, Kymberly Alvaraz, and Ava Zinn.  The gender transition of Rachael Passsalt now leaves Nickolas Passalt as the only remaining son of Julia Passalt while the gender transitions of Tiffani Zinn and Denise Alvaraz results in both Ava Zinn and Kymberly Alvaraz with no remaining male children.
14 The moderator panel of Vote for the Girls UK decline the defeat of Fleur East, is announced the runner-up of the eleventh series of “The X Factor UK.”
20 Ava Zinn’s Vote for the Girls picks to win Strictly Come Dancing, Caroline Flack and Frankie (Sanford) Bridge are respectively announced announced the winner and runner-up of the twelfth series of Strictly, which is the UK version of Dancing with the Stars.

Ava Zinn Announcement (9/18/14)

As you know AvaZinn.com is celebrating 15 years online come November 1, 2014. The flagship site of Ava Zinn, yours truly, has had two successful ventures, INNewsCenter (launched November 1, 1999; closed June 30, 2011; and planning revival on November 1, 2014), and Vote for the Girls International (United States, United Kingdom, and Australia versions launched April 28, 2010, June 1, 2013, and April 2015, respectively).

VFTG USA - Copy

But unfortunately, producing the YouTube videos and getting the clips uploaded have become a financial burden for Ava Zinn, yours truly. Nearly $38 a month goes to keeping the sites in operation (and that comes out of my pocket, sadly) alone. Then the moderator salaries and obligations to keep Vote for the Girls moderators that can range up to $1,000 a year (counting iTunes downloads by downloading a studio performance by a female contestant also coming out of my pocket) and online advertising (pretty much restricted since I tried putting flyers and basically selling my heart out which hasn’t been working).

On Vote for the Girls USA (the original version I launched a year before) alone, back in May of 2011, I tried offline advertising to get people to vote for Lauren Alaina and Haley Reinhart in the American Idol 10 finale… Unfortunately for me, despite the well-known “VOTE FOR LAUREN AND HALEY” the most successful campaign, I felt that it wasn’t enough and thinking ‘this isn’t gonna work,’ then I realized that eventually when I auditioned for the 11th season of American Idol auditioning in front of the producers, they had no idea I went undercover and here it is in 2014 what turned out to be two things I think I believe that despite changes on Idol since then–

  1. VoteForTheWorst.com basically ruined Idol and without that particular site or had I began watching Idol prior to American Idol 6, there would not be a Vote for the Girls franchise
  2. since my American Idol audition at Heinz Field and the David Lawrence Convention Center in Pittsburgh, Vote for the Girls became very popular in both Indiana and Pennsylvania. But recently, I think the site has lost steam after Alex & Sierra’s win on The X Factor 3 last year.

Revenue is down…

Then earlier this year, I tried to advertise Vote for the Girls online with mixed results on Facebook, Twitter, and Google with little success. What I realized now is that when I launched this site in November 1999 (then on a GeoCities site, then Tripod, followed by Aeverine.info, and to the current AvaZinn.com), as well as INNewsCenter (which had its own URL and I’ve decided not to do the same for the 2014 revival but rather AvaZinn.com/INNewsCenter but keeping the INNewsCenter YouTube, Facebook, and Twitter pages.) And as I did back when Vote for the Girls first started, I posted Crystal Bowersox voting information on both the INNewsCenter and my Facebook page (which serves as an alternate Facebook profile since the Vote for the Girls page wasn’t in existence yet.)  Had I run ads (usually cost $500-$1,000 per week) on Google, Facebook, and Twitter and had they ran on Vote for the Worst’s site, (and this is one thing I think I’m doing wrong with Vote for the Girls in 2014) then Crystal Bowersox, Lauren Alaina, Jessica Sanchez, Angie Miller, and Jena Irene would have won American Idols 9-13, respectively instead of those dreaded white guys with guitars.

So, I am officially looking for sponsors for Vote for the Girls US (as well as other adaptations in other countries) that will compensate me for running their ads on the You Tube channels involved, as well as the Vote for the Girls Pledge on the US site.

As for my fellow Hoosiers, fans, friends, and followers, once you make the Vote for the Girls pledge, you CANNOT and WILL NOT vote for male contestants not approved by yours truly because this is a lifetime commitment and I will not accept any excuses like, “If the girls performed better, they’d earn my vote…” or “Oh, Vote for the Girls, I’m not gonna follow that stupid tranny bitch…” or some other excuse.

At the end of the day, what it all comes down to is money, and lots of it. Another factor of what I think will make Vote for the Girls franchise become successful is opening a sports bar or some chain such as Buffalo Wild Wings. That, in addition to the web hosting and moderator salaries, and everything else related to the Vote for the Girls franchise operations.

CBS moves from WISH to WTTV (Justice Served?)

CBS EyemarkBy now, you have probably heard the news that Tribune Company of Chicago, owners of WTTV/WXIN in Indianapolis, have signed an affiliation agreement with the CBS Television network and ending the 58 year affiliation with WISH-TV.

For starters, CBS shows such as “The Price is Right,” “The Young and The Restless,” and possibly a US version of “Keep Your Light Shining” will move from WISH-TV (channel 8) to WTTV (channel 4) as of January 1, 2015. CW programming, which is currently on WTTV will move to WTTV’s digital subchannel currently occupied by This TV Indianapolis.

WISH-TV logoThe main question you are probably is wondering, “Why? Why is CBS moving to WTTV?” If you remember the WISH-TV/Bright House Dispute back in October 2008, LIN and Time Warner Cable entered into an impasse during negotiations to renew retransmission consent deals for some of the group’s television stations. Bright House Networks, one of two major cable providers serving Indianapolis as well as the cable provider in Marion, negotiates retransmission consent contracts through Time Warner Cable. LIN TV requested compensation for carriage of its stations in a manner similar to the deals that cable networks have with pay television providers, as other broadcast station owners began to seek compensation from cable and satellite providers for their programming. The carriage agreement with Bright House expired on October 2, 2008.  At 12:37 a.m. on October 3, WISH-TV, WNDY (channel 23/Marion Cable 10), and Fort Wayne’s WANE-TV (channel 15/former Marion Cable 20, currently occupied by TBN) signal was removed on Bright House. It would not be until October 29 when WISH-TV and WNDY were restored to Bright House Networks systems in Grant County, Indiana (which serves Marion, Gas City, and Jonesboro), but WANE-TV’s signal wasn’t restored, which led to WISE-TV and WPTA-TV being dropped nearly two months later. At that point, I had no choice but to cancel my cable subscription to Bright House after six years and began to watch over-the-air (and eventually added AT&T’s U-Verse Internet High Speed, making it an online streaming/over-the-air hybrid).

I somehow knew what LIN TV was going to try to do at that point and to this day, basically turned Marion, Indiana upside down.

Then, incidentally, the very last post on INNewsCenter was Fox’s announcement on June 20, 2011 that it would end its affiliation with WFFT (channel 55/former Marion Cable 2, now occupied by C-SPAN) moving WISE-DT2 on August 1, 2011. Nexstar had earlier lost the Fox affiliation for WTVW (channel 7) in Evansville following a dispute with the network over retransmission consent fees that it wanted its stations to pay to the network.  WFFT has since reaffiliated with Fox on March 1, 2013.

And in a twist of fate, happens to the the very first unofficial post of the INNewsCenter revival is that CBS’s announcement yesterday that it would drop its affiliation with WISH-TV (and likely WLFI in Lafayette) and affiliate with a WTTV (and its Kokomo satellite WTTK), effective January 1, 2015. Like the reason for WFFT going independent from August 1, 2011 to February 28, 2013, and now the case with WISH-TV losing CBS is coming as CBS is aggressively seeking a higher share of retransmission earnings gained by its affiliates as part of affiliation agreements, an approach that openly irked WISH-TV’s owner LIN TV.  I would not be surprised if LIN TV would subsequently be stripped of its CBS affiliations in Lafayette (WLFI), Buffalo (WVIB) and Providence (WPRI) as well.

As for WISH-TV’s future after January 1, 2015, and here is likely what will happen:

  • WISH-TV will either become an independent station (or take the MyNetwork TV affiliation from WNDY) on January 1, 2015 as WTTV takes the CBS affiliation.
  • WISH-TV will likely replace CBS daytime primetime shows with syndicated programming on weeknights, movies on weekends.
  • WISH-TV will introduce increased local programming, including coverage of local high school and college sports.
  • WISH-TV’s focus on news and investigative programming will likely be increased should the station become independent. WISH will expanded its weekday morning newscast from 2 1/2 hours to four (from 4:30-9 a.m., and effectively cancelling the 7-8 a.m. hour on WNDY), early evening newscasts expanded from a 90-minute to two-hour block starting at 5 p.m., and an hour-long primetime newscast at 10 p.m. (currently shown on WNDY) will joined the existing 11 p.m. newscast, and its existing noon newscast will likely expand to an hour.

WTTV, on the other hand, will have news since canceling a WRTV (channel 6)-produced newscast in 2002. WTTV, upon taking the CBS affiliation will have the following newscasts, as not to compete with WXIN (channel 59/Marion Cable 11)

  • 4:30-7:00 a.m. Weekdays (WXIN currently airs a morning newscast from 4-10 a.m.)
  • 12:00-12:30 p.m. Weekdays (WXIN did have a midday newscast from 2008-2010)
  • 90 minute news block from 5-6:30 p.m. (WXIN currently has a early evening news block from 4-7:30 p.m. come September)
  • 11-11:35 p.m. (WXIN currently has a late newscast block from 10-11:30 p.m.)

Then there comes WTTV’s likely weekday schedule come January 1, 2015 as follows (many shows currently shown on WTTV could stay or move to either WXIN or WTTV-DT2:

  • 4:00 a.m. CBS Morning News
  • 4:30 a.m. “CBS 4 Morning News”
  • 7:00 a.m. CBS This Morning
  • 9:00 a.m. Judge Mathis
  • 10:00 a.m. The People’s Court of Let’s Make A Deal
  • 11:00 a.m. The Price is Right
  • 12:00 p.m. “CBS 4 News at Noon”
  • 12:30 p.m. The Young and the Restless
  • 1:30 p.m. The Bold and The Beautiful
  • 2:00 p.m. The Talk
  • 3:00 p.m. Let’s Make A Deal or The People’s Court
  • 4:00 p.m. Paternity Court or The Middle
  • 4:30 p.m. The Middle??
  • 5:00 p.m. “CBS 4 News at 5:00”
  • 5:30 p.m. “CBS 4 News at 5:30”
  • 6:00 p.m. “CBS 4 News at 6:00”
  • 6:30 p.m. CBS Evening News
  • 7:00 p.m. The Big Bang Theory
  • 7:30 p.m. Two and a Half Men
  • 8:00 p.m. CBS Prime
  • 11:00 p.m. “CBS 4 News at 11:00”
  • 11:35 p.m. The Late Show with Steven Colbert
  • 12:37 a.m. The Late Late Show with James Corden
  • 1:37 a.m. How I Met Your Mother
  • 2:07 a.m. Rules of Engagement
  • 2:37 a.m. CBS News Up To The Minute??

When WTTV joins CBS, WTTV will most likely pre-empt the network’s Saturday morning block CBS Dream Team in favor of running E/I-compliant children’s programs acquired from the syndication market and pre-empt Up To The Minute, in favor of airing syndicated programs and infomericals during the overnight hours. Once the syndicated acquired programs get dropped from WTTV’s schedule once contract commitments with syndication distributors ended, likely those blocks may begin airing.

Then comes the issue of the This TV subchannel, since that is owned by Tribune Broadcasting. One scenario is This TV could move to a new subchannel on WXIN because WTTV will likely upgrade 4.1 and 4.2 to HD and WXIN currently has Fox on 59.1 and Antenna TV on 59.2, and possibly This TV on 59.3.

Bottom line: I think WTTV is considered to be a strong CBS affiliate owing to WTTV’s former “Indiana’s Sports Station” as a college basketball hotbed and teams such as Purdue, Butler, and Indiana being longtime fixtures in the tournament, I think NCAA tournament games on WTTV will be consistently among the highest-rated programs in Indianapolis during the tournament’s run.  Unfortunately WTTV’s future late news WILL NOT serve the lead-in for Indianapolis native David Letterman’s late night talk show on CBS, the Late Show), since The Late Show with Davide Letterman’s final episode will air on WISH, not WTTV.

INNewsCenter: Five Things that will be different from the original 1999-2011 version

innewscenter 2014-2

I know I will be asked this as the revival of INNewsCenter approaches in November. Yet there are some things that will be different from the original version of INNewsCenter and what will be seen on the remake of INNewsCenter.

Just to be clear that all of INNewsCenter’s Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube pages are going to remain the same as it was before I closed INNewsCenter in 2011. I will still be administrator of the INNewsCenter revival.

VFTG USA - Copy

First and foremost, do expect for certain clips (as was the case for Cheryl Parker’s final WXIN-TV newscast and the American Idol 9 finale which was never uploaded to INNewsCenter’s YouTube channel), often crossing over from another Aeverine Zinn Holdings site (usually Vote for the Girls or this web site you are viewing, AvaZinn.com) or come courtesy of the company providing the prize. Some such INNewsCenter clips will be female contestants (of which are supported by Vote for The Girls) and/or someone that I went to school with makes Indiana headlines and/or as was the case with the Ashley Rheam affair (which is covered on AvaZinn.com), especially for Issues related in the Marion, Mississinewa, and Eastbrook Community School Districts, and typically seen on the Ava Zinn You Tube Channel.

Secondly, at the time of INNewsCenter’s closure, and since the very last post on the site was WFFT-TV (channel 55, former Marion cable channel 2) losing Fox (and on March 1, 2013, WFFT has re-affiliated with the network) as well as a cable television dispute that lead to dropping Bright House Networks (not because of cable TV rates in case anyone wondered, but it was due to the WISH-TV/Bright House dispute in October 2008 that lead to the repercussions of the big four Fort Wayne stations dropped) and eventually replaced with AT&T U-Verse (via internet streaming) and over-the-air hybrid. There won’t be as much montages from the original as I will be most likely have to take an indoor TV antenna, and VCR to a hotel (especially in Indianapolis and Fort Wayne, of which when I launched INNewsCenter in November 1999, only the Fort Wayne and Indianapolis markets were covered before adding the eight other markets that serve all 92 counties in Indiana.)

Third, due to my commitments with Vote for the Girls (the American version since 2010, UK/British version since 2013, and soon add the Australian version come 2015), Housing Hell (coming in 2016), family obligations (with my daughters Samantha, Tiffani, Ashli, and Tabitha and to a similar extent, my cousins – notably my cousins Patricia and Sharon), and other issues that do come up often with my friends and family, do expect INNewsCenter to have a “INNewsCenter team” that will run the web site similar to “Nightline”‘s format since 2005 after Ted Koppel retired with all posts final by yours truly.

The fourth thing that will be different from the original INNewsCenter and the revival is going to be a new, yet likely going to be a YouTube copyright issue at the end of the day. In 2008, months before the WISH-TV/Bright House dispute, I was notified as the administrator of INNewsCenter since LIN TV of Providence contacted me about using INNewsCenter’s graphical element (such as high definition pillars on clips used for 4:3 videos in 480 i as INNewsCenter will still be presenting clips in high definition when the original version upgraded to high definition/widescreen in 2007) and recently on the INNewsCenter YouTube channel asked to take down clips from WIPB-TV in Muncie, which is a bloody shame. That lead me to consider a new feature, mostly for the station owner’s interests and copyright claims — The INNewsCenter Safe Haven Policy, which allows yours truly at the station owner’s request in the event the clips be taken down from INNewsCenter’s YouTube channel and as the administrator of INNewsCenter, offer the station owner (like LIN TV of Providence or Scripps) the use of INNewsCenter’s clip(s) be uploaded to the station’s YouTube Channel (such as WISH-TV or WRTV) to be presented it was seen on the station involved. A clear example of this is from WTWO-TV in Terre Haute (watch below).

BTW, since INNewsCenter is owned and operated by Ava Zinn, the civil policies are subject to the 2-5-10-BANNED Rule, that went into effect July 4, 2014. Should a station owner request a station’s material be taken down on YouTube due to copyright, that’s an automatic 20 year BANNED/BANNED as long as the station remains on the air. Another example is after Josh Kaufman won The Voice of America 6, INNewsCenter will not be uploading anything from WTHR from July 4, 2014 until January 4, 2016 under my discretion and this applies to Vote for the Girls USA.

And last but not least, the fifth and final thing that will be different on the INNewsCenter revival is that five significantly viewed markets of Peoria/Bloomington (viewed in Terre Haute); Grand Rapids (viewed in South Bend/Elkhart); Toledo and Detroit (viewed in Fort Wayne); and Lexington KY (viewed in Louisville and Cincinnati OH) are being added to the ten markets that INNewsCenter covered during the original 1999-2011 run. When the site launched, INNewsCenter only covered Fort Wayne and Indianapolis, and in 2004 added the eight other Indiana television markets of South Bend, Evansville, Terre Haute, Lafayette, Gary (Chicago, IL), New Albany (Louisville, KY), Richmond (Dayton, OH), and Rising Sun (Cincinnati, OH).

Pretty much things will be the same on INNewsCenter when I shut the site down on June 30, 2011 and closing INNewsCenter was the biggest regret I’ve ever made. When I relaunch the INNewsCenter site on November 1, 2014 (coincidentally 15 years to the day I started the site as a junior at Mississinewa High School), it will be located at avazinn.com/innewscenter and look forward to the site having its own URL as before because INNewsCenter.net has since been taken by another owner.

CONFIRMED: Ava Zinn to revive INNewsCenter

It's officially confirmed. INNewsCenter will be returning.

It’s officially confirmed. INNewsCenter will be returning.

MARION, INDIANA – Ava Zinn announced Thursday that she is planning to relaunch the popular television news discussion site INNewsCenter.

innewscenterThe site will be debuting on November 1, 2014. The site makes a triumphant return for Zinn who launched and ran INNewsCenter from 1999-2011.

“It’s absolutely an amazing feeling to be going HOME to my old friends and colleagues and firing up the ‘Covering Indiana’s 92 Counties and Beyond … AGAIN!” Zinn said.

“I’m excited to be back to the TV news biz and with the success with Vote for the Girls, INNewsCenter makes an excellent companion,” Zinn noted. “I had a substantial following with the old INNewsCenter (1999-2011), and I’ve had a lot of questions asked about ‘What happened to INNewsCenter?’ ‘Is INNewsCenter coming back?’ In 1999, there was no American Idol, no Vote for the Worst, no smart phones, all those things. When I launched INNewsCenter with my web site that has evolved to AvaZinn.com, I attracted a cross-over audience while bringing a fresh perspective to television news and getting a woman’s perspective since I’m transitioning to a female. That same need in the market exists today as when INNewsCenter originally launched. I’m are looking forward to the same success with my seasoned expertise and appeal in this genre.”

Ava Zinn’s commitments with ‘Vote for the Girls’ since the original American version launched in April 2010 and the British counterpart launched in June 2013, reinvigorated the desire to get back on the TV news discussion biz. Zinn commented on her Facebook page, “Closing INNewsCenter on June 30, 2011 has the second biggest regret I’ve ever made in my life.”

While the original INNewsCenter ran from November 1, 1999 through June 30, 2011, the site featured changes in the television news industry from the ten markets covering Indiana’s 92 counties and significantly viewed markets in those beyond Indiana’s state line (notably Lexington, KY; Grand Rapids, MI; Toledo, OH; Rockford, IL; Detroit, and Peoria, IL in the 2010’s) and primarily Indianapolis and Fort Wayne markets, which INNewsCenter only featured from the site’s debut until 2004. Here is a look at some of INNewsCenter’s most memorable moments from the popular web site.
