Ava Zinn addresses response of ‘Caprice & Ella’ season 7 episodes, Kayla Stewart’s departure from WPTA-TV 21Alive, Chuck Woolery passing
Many of you that are attending Purdue University Fort Wayne (PFW) with yours truly and/or have been watching ‘Caprice & Ella’ (whether it has been since day one or since the 15-part miniseries “Breaking Boiling Point” aired in January 2023) are probably dealing with the Affordable Housing Crisis with yours truly. Sometimes balancing a home/personal life, a career, and education is as easy as cooking a juicy medium-rare steak on an outdoor grill or cooking chili on a crock pot while other times, can be overwhelming, as has been the case for yours truly since November 1, 2022. Like many others, there are times when individuals have to realize that there comes a time when one knows that they must withdraw a college course for one reason or another. Our hearts, thoughts, and prayers go out to those students who have had to deal with the similar stress, anxiety, and overall pressure that Caprice, Ella, Breeanna, and I went through since production of the seventh season premiere began in late May 2024. Many of you have praised me while others have criticized me for what some have said are proven to be a bad call by some but not others. Far too often, over the past 25 years of my overall career, I have seen way too many people not being able to have a healthy work-life balance, as I saw on the morning of October 30, 2024 on “21Alive Morning News” as Kayla Stewart said farewell after seven years to focus on her three young children.

Since the production of the seventh season premiere episode “Terms of Enragement: Preston Pointe Your Luck to Newburyport Apartments” began and aired on August 19, 2024, I have received a significant number of comments and complaints of what eventually ended up being a blessing in disguise as my recent move from Golfview Apartments on the northeast side of Fort Wayne to The Meridian at Waterloo Gardens Apartments on the southeast side of Fort Wayne occurred during the second week of the Fall 2024 semester at PFW. The move significantly impacted my academic performance—particularly in a course that I have dropped/withdrew from as of 9:00 a.m. October 28, 2024, which is Elementary Spanish I and said farewell to the class at 4:15 that Monday afternoon.

From the perspective of a broadcast multimedia journalist as well as film/television producer/director/host since my overall career began on November 1, 1999, I have strived to provide balanced coverage as far as broadcast journalism goes as well as hearing both sides to every story and covering every angle of a story, of which is also true of a film/television producer/director/host, as in this case as the Creator and Executive Producer of ‘Caprice & Ella.’ As I said in the “Breaking Boiling Point” response on November 7, 2022, sometimes producing and directing any episode of ‘Caprice & Ella,’ writing/producing/directing any news report for the media and/or on AvaZinn.com, unfortunately, does include uncomfortable subjects, comments, or even an individual willing to provide the necessary information that is difficult for one to comprehend, hear, or even make someone extremely angry. While attending PFW refreshing and expanding on my skills as a broadcast journalist and a film/television producer/director/host/creator, everyone at PFW—including my classmates past, present, and future (with many of them in their early 20’s as my daughter Tabitha falls in that group), everyone at Aeverine Zinn Digital Media Group—including yours truly since I am also the owner and focuses more on the digital media division of Aeverine Zinn Holdings do have similar reactions. Just like in “Breaking Boiling Point,” “Breaking Boiling Point 2: A Renter’s Revenge,” and “Breaking Boiling Point 3: Stand Against Furious Fear,” the various situations like those covered in “Terms of Enragement: Preston Pointe Your Luck to Newburyport Apartments,” “Addressing Concerns #6 & #7,” "The Unbearable Stress and Fascism of the Intro to Liberal Arts & Spanish Midterms at Purdue Fort Wayne," “I’ve Got One Less, One Less… No, Two Less Problems” (which was reviewed on October 30 after a challenge flag was thrown and a segment/scene ended up getting deleted) are taken seriously into consideration.

There is a reason why I produced the aforementioned episodes of ‘Caprice & Ella’ for a good reason: (1) I want to give viewers/people a look at the other end of the issues that I tackled head-on; (2) as a viewer, you get to see things in the way I see things, even if some viewers do not agree—which I can understand; and (3) some will criticize, others will praise, and a handful of viewers can understand my position for producing the season seven episodes while at the same time attempting to balance my overall career, obligations as a student at PFW, and other commitments and obligations.

Though many do not realize it, there is a perspective that you might not have realized after the deaths of Jerry Springer on April 27, 2023, and Chuck Woolery on November 24, 2024. Growing up in Van Buren, Indiana as early as my pre-school years in 1987 until my overall career began over 25 years ago on November 1, 1999, watching Jerry Springer anchor a news broadcast with Norma Rashid on WLWT-TV Cincinnati in Van Buren and watching Scrabble (via WTHR Indianapolis or WISE-TV Fort Wayne), Greed (via WXIN Indianapolis or WFFT Fort Wayne), (as well as Lingo and Love Connection) hosted by Chuck Woolery, inspired me to pursue a career as a broadcast journalist and television host as well as a career in film and television production and directing.

By producing these ten episodes of the seventh season of ‘Caprice & Ella’ as they happened so far and presenting them on both the Caprice & Ella You Tube channel and my YouTube channel (with the exception of “Addressing Concerns #6 & #7” and "25 or 16 or 9 to 4 Pretty Darn Angry Mississinewa High School Alums at Bishop Luers") you are able to get some answers of why despite best efforts into why and basically when good people go bad after being pushed around and being mistreated/disrespected way too many times by a few, if not a handful of individuals known as “the few bad apples”. I created Caprice & Ella on February 26, 2021—the same day I adopted Caprice and the pilot episode airing the following day. I produce episodes of ‘Caprice & Ella’ for a good reason in order to give insight into the minds of individuals involved so there would be context and exposure for you as the viewer. For some, it is likely a world that you are familiar with while for others it may be something you may not understand at all. These aforementioned ten episodes of ‘Caprice & Ella’ that have been produced and with the six-part seventh season premiere episode that has aired so far as of Halloween 2024 was difficult for all of us to watch and understand as Breeanna went to jail for punching a property manager, yours truly spending only four hours at a psychiatric ward (when in fact I did end up having a meltdown, panic attack and a post-traumatic stress disorder episode all simultaneously on the afternoon of June 29, 2024), being rejected by three prospective landlords before finally moving on September 3, 2024—taking nearly eight months from the decision not to renew the lease and begin the process of settling in, of which has been ongoing as I had not had much time due to the workload at PFW and with my career.

I will continue to produce episodes of “Caprice & Ella” and I hope you can understand the difficult decisions I have to make in doing my jobs/occupations and doing the best job I know how to balance the academic load whether you’re in preschool, pre-K, elementary school, junior high, high school, junior college, much less college with the career one has chosen and family obligations and commitments.
